America’s President-Elect Joe Biden has picked Nigerian-American ADEWALE “Wally” ADEYEMO as America’s Deputy Treasury Secretary. He will be the Deputy Minister of Finance of the United States of America.

According to the PIIE, “Wally”, Deputy Assistant to President Obama and Deputy National Security Advisor for International Politics. In this video, Wally is seen, delivering the speech, “The G-7 and the Global Economy” at a 19 May 2016 Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) event. His presents addressed the upcoming G-7 Summit and covered a wide number of issues, including trade, and climate change. Adeyemo was the Sherpa for the G-7 and G-20, and was responsible for preparing the summit.

The 39 year old Adewale “Wally” Adeyemo, (Democrat), is a Nigerian-born American Attorney and Political Advisor, raised in Southern California, with 16 years of political Experience in his portfolio, and presently serving as the first President of the Obama Foundation. Adewale will serve under former Federal Reserve Chair, Janet Yellen, who Biden also plans to appoint as Head of America’s Treasury Department.

Adewale, who was raised in Southern California, obtained a Bachelors degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a law degree from Yale Law School. Before joining the Obama administration, Adewale worked as an Editor of the Hamilton Project. He then served as Senior Advisor and Deputy Chief of Staff to Jack Lew in the United States Department of Treasury.

In 2004, Adewale served as the Director of African American Outreach for the John Kerry 2004 Presidential campaign and was based in the San Francisco office. He has served as Chief Negotiator for Trans-Pacific Partnership and has served as the first Chief of Staff to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau under Elizabeth Warren.

In 2015, Adewale served as America’s Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economics and Deputy Director of the National Economic Council till 2016. On August 1, 2019, it was announced that Adeyemo would serve as the first President of the Obama Foundation. In November 2020, Adeyemo is nominated to serve as United States Deputy Secretary of the Treasury in the Joe Biden Administration.

If confirmed, Adewale Adeyemo make history as the first Nigerian African American Deputy Secretary of the United States Treasury, the highest level of attainment for an African in the American Government. Information about his wife or family is not available in public domain.
